This project will assess whether genetically altering glial cells that proliferate following ischemic stroke to take on some of the functioning of those neurons killed or rendered dysfunctional by the stroke can improve survival and function in stroked rats. This study is being conducted by Bhairavi Srinageshwar and is funded by a grant to Julien Rossignol (PI) (below standing) and Gary Dunbar (Co-PI) (below sitting).
