Dr. Adel is a board certified dually trained neurosurgeon in endovascular interventional procedures as well as open cerebrovascular and skull base neurosurgery. He earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut Medical Center and completed residency in neurological surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago, where he also completed advanced surgical training fellowships in cerebrovascular and endovascular, and skull base. He also completed a cerebrovascular and endovascular fellowship and Capital Institute of Neuroscience in New Jersey. Dr. Adel has published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed neurosurgery journals on the treatment of Cerebrovascular and Skull Base conditions. He has also written numerous book chapters on Neurovascular Surgical Techniques, Intracranial Aneurysms, Intracranial Arteriovenous Malformations and Endovascular Therapies. He also serves as an editor of the major neurosurgical journals. He is a member of Ascension Medical Group and several professional societies including the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological surgery.

Dr. Adel specializes in treating: Cerebral aneurysms (open, minimally invasive and endovascular), Arteriovenous malformations (AVM) and dural arteriovenous fistulas (open microsurgial and endovascular), Cavernous malformations, Carotid stenosis (endarterectomy and angioplasty/stenting), Moyamoya disease (cerebral bypass and revascularization), pseudotumor cerebri/idiopathic intracranial hypertension (venous sinus stenting, CSF shunting), intracranial hemorrhage (open and minimally invasive endoscopic), Trigeminal neuralgia and facial spasms (microvascular decompression), brain tumors- skull base and pituitary (open, endoscopic and endonasal), Chiari type I (decompression), Hydrocephalus and many other neurosurgical disorders.
